Gerard Otto Facebook: G the good newsWillis confirms her incompetence, Destiny Church Crims

Jason Walls’ mouth was open wider than a basketball hoop – when he saw that Nicola Willis had left out specifying Budget Allowances from her Budget Policy Statement in a significant failure to keep up the convention every other more capable Finance Minister has been able to maintain.

Maiki Sherman was quick to read into the terrible botch up that Winston and Seymour were not able to agree with Willis so no specific number could be published today while Willis tried to play that down and deny deny, like she had about so many things that later turned out to be the case.

All Willis would say about Budget Allowances is this Budget will be under $3.5 Billion and you will have to wait till 30 May to find out that actual allowance and forecast allowances as if certainty did not matter.

Worse Willis was almost ruling out a surplus in 2027 and signalling strongly it might be 2028 now based on Treasury GDP projections.

Most economists said Willis was acting irresponsibly by sticking with Tax cuts and pushing out the surplus – but Willis doubled down and ranted and shrieked about her commitment to tax cuts to low and medium income kiwis – which sounded like things had been pegged back even more since before the election campaign.

Craig Renny said Willis’ BPS read like eight pages of excuses while Willis ranted that she got Pharmac Funding wrong at $700 Million and now she will have to pay more than twice that.

“Would it be easier to stick to what she has gotten right?” said an organic Punga, losing track of the mountain of errors piling up now.

“More holes than Swiss Cheese” muttered a Flax Bush.

“Rock solid” warbled a majestical Tui before yelling “YEAH RIGHT” and flying off to peck at Willis.

“Willis has failed to deliver again”, said G from G News, “What she did say is her government will try to get back to surplus, that she wanted debt to get down between 20% and 40% of GDP and for Government spending to be around 30% of GDP. None of that is new, in fact it’s standard boring stuff”.

“It’s important to heed the lessons of failure”, said Monty staring out the window.

So many lessons for Willis now in such a long line as she goes from one bungle to the next – so wrong about nearly everything and now she blames the previous Government as she refuses to admit her mistakes.

The headlines were shocking as Gerry tried to block accountability in parliament but kept getting pushed back by Chippy ….and Barbara Edmonds delivered an accurate speech about the mess and how “un rock solid this mess really is” with all the new taxes and botch ups.

Nobody Reading this is Gerry Brownlee !!!

Hooray !!

Luxon denied his useless Minister for Disability Penny Simmonds had been disciplined and forced to refer to Cabinet and Gerry tried to defend that – but the Chipster prevailed on that spin – while Luxon dodged, ducked and weaved – and did get away without addressing questions in the House again.

A number of people have been arrested after members of Destiny Church gathered at Gisborne’s CBD rainbow pedestrian crossing again on Wednesday afternoon. So illegal, just vandals really.

Luxon has stepped into the race card debate about University safe spaces. Luxon said he hasn’t seen the detail, but at first glance it looks totally inappropriate.

“There is no place for discrimination or segregation in New Zealand. Universities should be places of inclusion, not exclusion.” – said Luxon.

This all started with David Seymour stirring up trouble again and now Luxon has jumped on the white band wagon like a slave trader.

The NZ Herald reported :

“University of Auckland law student Shakeel Shamaail, of Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Kurī and Taranaki descent, was outraged at the Act Party’s position, saying the spaces are vital for wellbeing and counter discrimination they face daily. The spaces for Māori and Pasifika are a long-standing tradition at the University of Auckland and were championed by writer Ranginui Walker and politicians Hone Harawira and Efeso Collins.”

Chippy gave an excellent set of media interviews this morning and everyone remarked how refreshing it was when a leader actually answers questions instead of dodging them.

I have posted early notice that Vicki and I are taking a 10 day holiday in about a week’s time – and wow – thanks for your support. Very heartening.

I’ve gotta go dash and collect Vicki from work now, so have a lovely evening and I’ll be back soon later this evening.
